The VIP™ Emergency Distress has all the settings and features that the standard VIP™ Expedition has; however, it can also double as an emergency beacon, should the situation call for it. The light incorporates Reverse Polarity Program Switching™ to offer an entirely new set of functions when the battery is switched around. This "Emergency Distress" operating mode features two versions of the international Morse code distress signal (SOS): one in low intensity that will last outstandingly for around 93 hours on a full battery (that’s almost 4 days!), and a high intensity version that can provide an intense burst of visibility when needed.
